RIYKA ‘’Shake it to make it’’
Sunday, 01 April 2012
The London
based fashion brand Riyka returns
this season with a collection so simplistic and minimalistic that is nothing
short of brilliance. Reshaping the way we see the traditional human body in geometric
contrasting panels in a minimal colour pallet. There is a silent contrast
between the fabrics that is so tastefully done in dark denims, coloured linens
and leather. This season’s collection was inspired by the beautiful 27 wives of
the notorious Nigerian singer Fela Kutti. The collections intentions are to
express and demonstrate the essence of beauty that these 27 women carried. The collections African influence is both enchanting
and inspiring. The collection makes you want to move, dance ‘Shake it to make
it’. Rika has a story to tell, she has not created looks, she has created
characters.
Indian winter
Saturday, 19 November 2011
It was with happy harts that we, this season, received IndyAnna's first collection. The German design duo, Anna and Indira, have decided to plant their business in London. Ebullient with creativity they contribute with something as rare as playfulness. The collection ”Black is the new black” is full of soft materials and fringes in anything but black.
When days are getting darker, comfort and colour is what London people need. As colourful velvet and tassels look down at us from shelves and rails they will surely inspire to one or two chrismas gifts. Come in and cheer yourself up.
